Clean Air is Important Inside Too

Matthew Stewart - Friday, April 20, 2012

So often, we hear about air pollution, allergens, and toxins that we breathe in while outdoors. Often, we homeowners and business owners forget that indoor air quality is just as essential. Our families and employees are breathing in the same air on a consistent, regular basis. It's a little known fact that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) ranks indoor air pollution as one of the top five environmental health hazards today. Wow! That's pretty serious. Get serious about your family's overall health. Get started today by clicking here for a FREE, no-obligation In-Home Air Quality Consultation.

A Humidifier Helps Moisture Levels in Your Home This Season

Matthew Stewart - Wednesday, September 21, 2011
Fall's gorgeous colors and cooler temps makes us all long for those cozy evenings at home. But, along with the great moments of fall, also comes seasonal allergies and colds. When you run your heater, it dries up the air, making you more vulnerable to allergens and colds. A remedy to this is to install a humidifer. These useful units help to maintain the moisture levels within your home. Not only does this help with your overall health, but a humidifer will also help to reduce your utility bills. Basically, a humidifer works in unison with your heating system to ensure you have the best possible indoor air quality and warmth.

Give us a call today to learn more about the benefits of a humidifier in your home. Click here for more information.

Cooler Temps Are Just Around the Corner...Are You Prepared?

Matthew Stewart - Friday, September 16, 2011
It's that time of the year to start preparing for cooler temperatures. Energy costs are certainly increasing across the country. Have you inspected your furnace? If it is an older heating unit, you may want to consider adding a newer furnace. There are many benefits to adding a new furnace to your older home. Studies show that a newer furnace can reduce heating energy bills by as much as 40%.What's more, newer models run more efficiently, which is better for the environment overall. They are generally quieter models as well, making it much more pleasant for you and your family. Many new heating systems exist to help reduce your heating costs. Although there's an initial investment, the energy savings over time will more than pay for the newer model.

If you'd like to consider your heating options, give an expert a call. We're happy to assess your current model and offer you upgrade choices that will best meet your needs.

72 Degrees Player of the Week Announced

Matthew Stewart - Friday, September 09, 2011

WHKY and 72 Degrees Announces Unifour Player of the Week for Football Games Played Sept. 3

72 Degrees is proud to sponsor the 12th Annual Player of the Week Award. Each week, coaches are asked to submit a nomination of an area high school student player who best represented his team through teamwork and dedication. Player of the Week, Shaquan Reid from Hickory High School, did just that with 21 carries on 113 yards and 3 touchdowns. This meant a huge win for the Hickory High Red Tornadoes.

Coach John Worley, head football coach, commented he was one of the team's leaders. "If we could get people to work as hard as him, we're gonna be okay."

72 Degrees would like to commend Reid and all of his accomplishments. A job well done!

Girl Power - Teen Girl Wins Google's Science Award on Indoor Air Quality!

Matthew Stewart - Wednesday, August 10, 2011

Indoor air quality is something that is rarely ever considered in terms of asthma. Normally, most considerations are given to the outdoor environment. That's what prompted a gifted, young scientist to 'think outside the box' and consider the impact of indoor air quality on breathing.

Naomi Shah, 16, won her age group award with a project demonstrating ways to reduce reliance on asthma medication by improving indoor air quality in Google's first-ever science fair. This young scientist was awarded a $25,000 scholarship and internships at Google.

The EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) ranks indoor air quality as one of the top five environmental dangers, ranking it as one of the leading health risks today. This is due to the construction materials used for newer energy efficency. These 'sealed tight' homes don't allow air to escape nor enter the home as they did 30 to 40 years ago. The data is concerning.
