Get Green Screened

Matthew Stewart - Sunday, February 10, 2013

Did you know that 72 Degrees Air Conditioning & Heating is Green Screened? What does it even mean to be Green Screened? And why is that important?

Well, it’s primarily important because the decisions that we make about energy today will affect our world tomorrow. North America’s population has doubled throughout the past 50 years, and with it the need for energy. When the population should be conserving energy, they are still wasting 30-50% of available energy. We have a responsibility to take a look at how much energy we use on a daily basis and find ways to lower that. Shouldn’t an air conditioning and heating company value energy efficiency?

72 Degrees certainly does by being committed to the “green” movement. They educate people about why having a “green” heating and cooling system is good for the environment. They let homeowners know about ways to make their home more energy efficient. They also proactively work to preserve the environment through conserving and recycling.

A Green Screened company sets an example by going “green” in their own actions as well. Here are a few tips for going “green” in your own home:

  • Regularly change your filters
  • Keep air registers open
  • Open a window
  • Use ceiling fans instead of turning on the A/C
  • Use the sun to your advantage
  • Keep your attic properly ventilated

These suggestions, among others, will get you on your way to a healthier, greener home.

Are You In the Zone?

Matthew Stewart - Thursday, October 20, 2011
The heating and cooling zone that is...if you haven't heard of it, then maybe you should. Zoning your home for efficient heating and cooling is as practical these days as programmable thermostats.

What is zoning? Well, it is an improvement to your home's heating and cooling system. Essentially, it allows you, the homeowner, to be in control of the temperatures throughout your home, rather than vice versa. You can set the 'zone' for that particular area of the home to higher or lower based on the needs of the area. For instance, the nursery of a baby's room may need to stay warmer, while you may want a home gym space to feel cooler. Is there a spare bedroom that never gets used? Perfect. You can keep that room at a different temperature than an area of the house that does get used frequently. The best part? A heating and cooling zoning system will save you energy and money. No need to do costly construction or installation either. Click here to learn if a zoning heating and cooling system is right for you and your home.

Want to Save Some Green While Going Green?

Matthew Stewart - Thursday, September 22, 2011
Looking for ways to save on your monthly budget, while also helping the environment? Well, you can! There have been considerable advances made for consumers to "go green". That is even true within the heating and cooling sector. Since homes and other buildings account for 24% of all energy used, it's a good idea to find better, more efficient methods of heating and cooling your home. There are considerable savings to be found by scheduling a home conservation evaluation by a green screened contractor. Finding a qualified contractor in your area is as simple as clicking here. A qualified contractor will contact you to do a home conservation evaluation. This evaluation will include an examination of your system, along with a thorough cleaning and any needed adjustments. By doing this step, on average, your home's heating and cooling unit should be operating at full efficiency....reducing your energy usage and saving you money!
